My name is Mitchell Falk and I first started riding motorcycles when I was 3 1/2 years old. I started because my dad loved riding and my two older brothers followed after him. We all loved riding and I specifically loved racing. I started off by going to local night races on 50's, to week long amateur races (I started going to these in about 2011), and eventually turning professional in 2019.
I was fortunate enough to earn support from KTMUSA on 65's from turning in good results at each of the amateur nationals. I continued my relationship with KTM through 85's, 125's, and eventually 250's for a total of 8 years of racing in the amateur ranks. Throughout those years I won at a-lot of the amateur events each year, therefore earning my support until I signed my first professional contract.
I had my best amateur year in 2016 in the B class, where I went 8 for 8 moto wins at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship and went on to win the 250 B limited Championship at Loretta Lynns later that year. I also was the fastest qualifier and first moto winner in the all-star class at the Monster Energy Cup held on October 15th, 2016.. In the second race I crashed off the start and broke my collarbone that required surgery. The incision got infected making the total healing time 3 months. A couple weeks back on the bike after I healed from my collarbone, I broke my Femur in February of 2017. In what was supposed to be my last year as an amateur was then spent with a lot of time off the bike. With basically 6 months off the bike it took longer than expected to return to my full potential. I raced an extra amateur year to regroup in 2018. I thank the KTM brand for choosing me to help develop their mini cycles and Orange Brigade amateur program, and providing me with a platform to progress as a racer.
Finally, after a long journey that required sacrifice and hard work from myself and my family. I turned pro for my first full season in 2019 with KTMs Factory 250 team. Struggling to find comfort on the motorcycle, my year consisted of two injuries and results that were disappointing to my expectations and high standards I set myself to. Knowing that my results were not near my full potential and my work ethic off the bike with fitness trainer Tyla Rattray ,who worked alongside the sports most accomplished trainer Aldon Baker, I was hopeful to earn another year with the professional factory effort.
Unfortunately, I was not resigned with KTM and am now pursuing the 2020 SX and MX series on my own effort to hopefully put in results that prove I deserve a spot on a Factory Team. It's been a great journey and I have learned a lot regarding fitness and bike setup that I can apply to the future. It hasn't been for a lack of effort and I will continue working hard to accomplish my dreams.
Thank you to each and every single company that has supported me thus far in my career. I truly appreciate it and look forward to working with more of you in the years to come.
